By Role

Organizer

The list is the campaign. Build it, walk it, and message it from the same member and applicant records the local will keep after the card drive.

Union Software is built for the collective bargaining economy — the local, the unit, the hall, the board — not for an employer HR stack. For an organizer the value is a living list: people, worksite, status, and a message that hits the same records.

How the week runs in the software

People holds the worksite list, applicants, and conversation notes. Communications sends to a current segment. Education & LMS is where a new steward goes next.

The software answers who is on the site, what you last recorded, whether you can still reach the unit, and where coverage is thin.

How Union Software helps

People is the list

Members, applicants, stewards, staff — types the union names. Worksite, classification, bargaining unit, contact, consent. Import a spreadsheet; map the columns you already use.

Segments stay live

A saved audience (worksite, classification, status, credential window) updates as records change. You do not export every Thursday.

Communications uses that audience

Email, SMS, or voice to the people you just walked — not a shadow list in a personal phone.

Coverage is visible

Steward assignment by worksite and unit is how internal organizing sees density.

A vote or a meeting uses the same people

When the campaign becomes a ratification, a strike vote, or a membership meeting, Voting and Communications do not start from a new spreadsheet. This page does not invent a card-check product. Authorization cards and showing of interest remain the campaign’s legal work. The software holds the people and the outreach.

Clean the worksite list

The employer list, last year’s export, and a volunteer spreadsheet do not agree. You will not walk the wrong names.

  1. Import or update the worksite rows — member number, name, classification, worksite, contact, consent.

  2. Resolve duplicates and obvious mismatches before anyone is assigned a walk list.

  3. Tag or type people the way the campaign actually talks — member, applicant, steward — without second profiles.

  4. Save a live segment for that worksite so the next walk starts from current records.

How the software handles it

Notes on the person

People stores the walk note on the member.

  1. Open the person.
  2. Write the note.
  3. Keep follow-up on that record.
  4. The next walker opens the same note.

Coverage filter

People shows worksite and steward assignment.

  1. Filter by worksite and assignment.
  2. See empty coverage.
  3. Keep outreach notes on those members.
  4. Point new stewards at Education & LMS.

Current-segment send

Communications sends to a People segment you can still reach.

  1. Build the segment.
  2. Drop unreachable records.
  3. Send.
  4. Read the sent count.

Get Started

Questions they actually ask

Where do walk notes go?

On the person in People. The next volunteer opens that record.

How do I see worksites with no steward?

Filter People by worksite and assignment. Coverage is a field, not a side list.

How does a 48-hour turnout send work?

Build a current People segment and send it through Communications. Do not reuse the first-week list.

Does People store authorization cards?

No. People holds the list and notes. Communications holds the outreach. Card-check stays campaign work.

How do members keep their own contact current?

Self-service on the fields the union turns on. Those updates land on the same People record you walk.
