By Role

Steward / Shop Steward

First call on the floor: notes, the 5 Ws, the remedy, and the clock — not a form that waits until you get back to the hall.

Union Software is built for the collective bargaining economy — the local, the unit, the hall, the board — not for an employer HR stack. For a steward the value is the floor file: intake, fact sheet, article, and the next date.

How the week runs in the software

Grievances & Cases holds the fact sheet, notes, procedure dates, and the cited article. People confirms the member. Agreements opens the clause.

The software answers whether the clock is on the file, which article you cited, and what the supervisor said. The conversation is not reconstructed two days later.

Shop floor or depot, daylight through bay doors.

How Union Software helps

Intake matches how you already write

Case type, people, incident, assignment. Partial file when you only have ten minutes. The member should not have to repeat the story.

The clock is on the case

A procedure template calculates the next due date. Due today and overdue are visible before the Chief Steward texts you.

The article is searchable

Agreements opens the overtime, posting, or seniority clause you are actually policing.

Notes stay with the file

The investigatory meeting is not a page in a notebook that goes through the wash.

The office sees the same record

When you need the Staff Rep, the file is the file — not a photo of a form.

Fact sheet after the conversation

The member told you at the locker. You have who, what, when, where, why, and a remedy in your head. If you wait until Friday, you will lose a name.

  1. Open intake: case type, the member from People, incident date, worksite.

  2. Write the 5 Ws and the requested remedy in the case notes while the conversation is fresh.

  3. Attach who else was present and what you already said to the supervisor.

  4. Leave the file assigned to you with a next action the Chief Steward can see.

How the software handles it

Deadline on the case

The procedure template puts the next date on the file.

  1. Open the case with the incident date.
  2. Apply the procedure.
  3. Pin notes on that file.
  4. Keep the reminder on that deadline.

Clause on the case

Agreements opens the article. The case carries the citation.

  1. Search the agreement.
  2. Open the clause.
  3. Attach it to the case.
  4. Use that language from the file.

Notes on the case

Questions and answers sit on Grievances & Cases after People confirms the member.

  1. Confirm the member.
  2. Open the case.
  3. Pin the notes.
  4. Write the follow-up date on that file.

Approved send to the shift

Communications already targeted that worksite from People.

  1. Open the send.
  2. See the target list.
  3. Share that text.
  4. Do not create a second version.

Get Started

Questions they actually ask

Where do the 5 Ws live?

On the case in Grievances & Cases, with the member from People and the article from Agreements.

How does the clock get on the file?

A procedure template calculates the next due date from the incident or employer action date.

Can I start a file from a partial intake?

Yes. Save what you have. Finish notes and the deadline on that same case.

How do investigatory notes stay with the member?

Pin them on the case after you confirm the person in People. They do not live in a notebook.

How do I pass the approved update to the shift?

Open the Communications send already targeted from People. Do not write a second version.
