By Role

Dispatcher

Morning dispatch: the requisition, the book, the offer, the slip — without rebuilding the list after every yes, no, or no-answer.

Union Software is built for the collective bargaining economy — the local, the unit, the hall, the board — not for an employer HR stack. For a Dispatcher the value is one call record: request, rank, offer, assignment.

How the week runs in the software

Hiring Hall holds the open requisitions, the eligible list from People, and the offer outcomes. Standing, tickets, and who is working sit on the member and the assignment.

The software answers who is next, what they said, whether they are in standing, and where they are working. A refusal does not rewrite the list.

Members on the rail: a white woman electrician in her twenties, an older white man, a Black journeyworker.

How Union Software helps

The request is a requisition

Contractor, jobsite, trade, agreement, shift, crew size, credentials — the source for the match.

The book is ranked live

Availability, credentials, classification, agreement, list position, the local’s rules. Expired tickets show before you dial.

Outcomes stay on the call

Offered, accepted, declined, unreachable, dispatched. A skip complaint has a history.

Standing is not a sticky note

People and Finance & Dues carry good standing. You read it; you do not keep a side list.

After the slip, the assignment continues

Who is working where. Hours can continue into Finance when the hall works that way. This is not a public-sector grievance page. It is the hall.

Take the call

The contractor wants bodies at 7. Half the requirements are in the voicemail. You will not rank a ghost request.

  1. Open a requisition and record trade, agreement, shift, crew size, start, required tickets.

  2. Confirm the agreement the call is worked under.

  3. Split crew slots if the call is more than one classification.

  4. Put the requisition in Open so ranking uses that record, not the voicemail.

How the software handles it

Eligible list from People

Hiring Hall ranks from current People records.

  1. Open the requisition list.
  2. Read tickets and standing on each name.
  3. Record a pass or skip on the call.
  4. Offer in listed order.

Outcomes on the call

Accepted, declined, unreachable, and pending sit on the requisition.

  1. Send the offer from the requisition.
  2. Record the outcome.
  3. Advance without rebuilding.
  4. Confirm assignments.

Name-hire as a requisition type

The type and the offer history live on the same call. People still supplies standing.

  1. Set the requisition type.
  2. Confirm the member in People.
  3. Record the offer outcome.
  4. Keep the history on the call.

Tickets before offer

People shows expiry on the name Hiring Hall is about to offer.

  1. Open credentials on the member.
  2. Read standing if that is the hold.
  3. Hold the name on the requisition.
  4. Release on the same call.

Get Started

Questions they actually ask

How does the eligible list get built?

Hiring Hall ranks from current People records. Credentials, availability, classification, and list position sit on the name.

Where do accept, decline, and no-answer go?

On the requisition. The next eligible name is already in order. You do not rebuild the list.

How is a name-hire stored?

As a requisition type with the same offer history. Standing and tickets still come from People.

How do I see tickets before I offer?

People shows expiry and standing on the name Hiring Hall is about to offer. A hold stays on that call.

Is Hiring Hall a case file?

No. Appeals that become a file go to Grievances & Cases. The dispatch day stays on the requisition.
